Prince George’s County Council Member Will Campos, who represents District Two including Hyattsville and surrounding communities, took part in “Fire Ops 101”, a program by the Prince George’s County Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics Association aimed at educating policy makers by putting them in situations that fire fighters and paramedics face everyday. The event took place in mid-October.

Campos is a strong supporter of the Hyattsville VFD and was among the speakers at last weekend’s Groundbreaking ceremony for our joint emergency services facility with the American Red Cross. During his remarks, he mentioned how his recent first-hand experience during the Fire Ops program gave him a new perspective and further respect and appreciation for the risks firefighters and first responders take serving the community.

Campos also plays with our hockey team annually at the D.C. Fire Burn Foundation tournament in Laurel.

On Thursday, October 17, Campos announced that he is a candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates, District 47B. He is currently serving his last term with the County Council.
