Truck 1 First Due on Mount Rainier Basement Fire

At 8:46 a.m. on Monday, January 18th, Truck 801 was alerted as the first due special service for reported smoke in the basement at 3207 Varnum Street in Mount Rainier, Co. 55’s first due. Engine 855 arrived reported smoke showing.

Truck 801 arrived and immediately began an interior search, working down to the basement. Engine 809 came through a basement door on Side Charlie to knock the fire down.

Command held Engine 809 and Truck 801, with units clearing just after 10 a.m. The Truck Company was staffed with eight volunteers.
