At about 12:15pm Thursday, April 14th, units from Hyattsville, College Park and surrounding companies were dispatched for a reported building fire at Plato’s Diner at 7150 Baltimore Avenue in College Park.
Units arrived with smoke showing and fire in the kitchen extending through the kitchen’s ventilation system. The fire was quickly contained but crews performed extensive overhaul. It was not immediately known when the popular restaurant may be able to reopen.
