
Rescue Squad 1 was on the third alarm of a garden apartment fire in Berwyn Heights. The blaze broke out around 2 p.m. and quickly rose to a second, then third alarms as fire spread to the top floor through the roof at 9336 Edmonston Road. Evacuation tones were sounded at one point and a Mayday was called shortly thereafter but no firefighters were reported injured. 60 or more residents were displaced. It was the second third-alarmer of the week for the HVFD and many of the companies operating.
