As dinner was winding down and the crew from Company 1 was relaxing, Company 9 and surrounding units were alerted for a personal injury accident with multiple people trapped. Units arrived on scene with two vehicles and patients trapped in each. Squad 33 arrived on scene and went to work on one vehicle as Squad 1 was alerted to the call as the second squad.
Squad 1 arrived on scene and went to work on the SUV with one trapped. Crews stabilized the vehicle and performed a side removal of the driver side. Patient was extricated in 5 minutes and sent to an area Trauma Center. Squad 1 remained on scene standing by until the patient in the second car was extricated and transported.
