The Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that Henry Sullivan will serve as its next Fire Chief. Chief Sullivan, a 13-year member of the HVFD, takes the reigns following Chief Ryan Pidgeon’s departure earlier this month after accepting a position at a department in California.
Chief Sullivan has served as the Assistant Fire Chief under Chief Pidgeon for the last two years. Chief Sullivan began his HVFD career as a Live-In member in 2011 and has served in many operational capacities during his tenure.
Originally from Maine, Chief Sullivan works full time for the District of Columbia Fire & EMS Department. Please join the Officers & Members of the HVFD in congratulating Chief Sullivan on his appointment as Fire Chief!
“I am humbled and grateful for this tremendous opportunity to lead the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department. I would like to thank Chief Pidgeon for his leadership these last few years and am excited to continue the department’s legacy as one of the most premier volunteer fire departments in the country.”
