A Fire Department memorial service was held for Carole Moltrup, life member of the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department and wife of HVFD Chief Emeritus Donald B. Moltrup, on Monday, September 11th, 2017 at 7 p.m.
The service was held in the hall at the Bladensburg VFD, 4213 Edmonston Road, Bladensburg, MD 20710.
Over 150 people gathered to remember Carole, a long time “mom” to hundreds of HVFD members and career personnel over her 2+ decades of service to the department. Carole served in many administrative, support and operational roles, including Secretary, Special Events coordinator and EMS member. Attendees included many current and former HVFD volunteer and career alum, leadership from the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department, including Chief Benjamin Barksdale.
