It was quite the busy and wet weekend at Station 1 with 50 runs taken in from Friday Afternoon to Sunday night.
At 2318 hrs on Friday night Station 1 was alerted for the Personal Injury Accident at East West Hwy and Toledo Terrace. Crews arrived to find 2 vehicles on opposite sides of East West Highway both requiring extrication.
The Engine pulled protection lines while the Ambulance and other medical units provided care to the patients. Squads 14 and 22 arrived and went to work freeing the occupants of both vehicles. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries later at the trauma center. The Engine cleared the scene at 0012 hrs.
At 0848 hours on Saturday morning the Ambulance was placed on the box at 5925 Cherrywood St at the infamous garden apartment complex formerly known as the Springhill Lake Apartments for the building fire with people trapped. Just as the ambulance was marking up the Engine was placed on an AFA missing the subsequent 2nd and 3rd alarms. The ambulance arrived and began triaging the numerous amounts of patients who had jumped or had been burned. The ambulance cleared at 1231 hours.
Finally at 1017 hours on Sunday the Engine and Truck were alerted to Montgomery County for the house fire. Montgomery Co. Engine Co 2 arrived with a fire in the attic. The Truck arrived 2nd Due splitting the crews with the outside crew cutting a wooden fence in the rear for access, threw ladders and opened up the roof while the interior crew took Division 1. The Engine arrived 3rd Due and advanced the 300
