Shortly after 5am, Truck and Squad 1 were among units dispatched to a reporting apartment fire with people trapped on 15th Avenue in Co. 34’s area in Langley Park.
Engine Company 34 arrived on scene reporting a three story garden apartment with smoke showing and people on the balconies.
Truck 1 positioned on Side Bravo, with the truck driver throwing a ladder to the balcony to assist an occupant and pet down. The Squad and Truck crews conducted primary and secondary searches inside the building and assisted a second occupant out.
Company 1 units operated with nine volunteer Firefighter/EMTs with a dedicated ambulance crew handling other incidents.
Just before 4 am Apartment Fire in 7900 block of 15th Avenue in Langley Park. Fire In Apt on top floor (3rd floor). Some occupants assisted off their balconies by firefighters. Fire extinguished quickly. No injuries however 2 cats deceased. Cause is under investigation #PGFD
