HVFD Elects New Fire Chief PDF Print E-mail

For the first time in 36 years, HVFD will be guided by another Chief other than Donald "Doc" Moltrup. The Officers and Members of the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department officially voted in T. David Hang as the new Chief 1. Since Doc headed south for a sunnier climate and golf carts with lightbars, Dave has served the department as Acting Chief 1.

Image Dave has been a volunteer firefighter since 1992 and with the HVFD since 1996, joining as a live-in member while pursuing his degree in Fire Protection Engineering at the University of Maryland. He has served in all line officer positions, including Deputy Chief.

Please join us in congratulating Dave on this great accomplishment as we move forward as a department, and wishing Doc the best in his retirement.
