At 1733 hours, Station 1 was alerted to the reported apartment fire with multiple trapped occupants at 5715 Jamestown Road. Chief 1 and Truck 1 with 8 members arrived on scene with nothing evident. Entry was made into the common stairwell where smoke was now issuing from the terrace level.

The interior crew went to work locating the fire and searching for occupants while the exterior crew opened the roof and removed 1 occupant over a ground ladder. Searches proved negative and the fire was confined to debris and magazines in the common hallway. Minor extension to the 1st floor was handled by Engine 7. Truck 1 went in service after assisting investigators at 1923 hours.
