Early Friday morning just after 0500 hours, Station 1 was alerted to the house fire at 4215 Oglethorpe St. Truck 1 arrived on scene with light smoke showing. Upon investigation it was found that a malfunctioning ceiling light had lit off rafters and insulation in an attic crawl space. The fire was quickly knocked by Engine 11. Units from 1 cleared at 0532. Units from Riverdale, College Park, Bladensburg, and Bunkerhill were on scene.

Later on Friday evening, Rescue Squad 1 cleared a first due wreck and was notified to the Apartment fire at 604 Hudson Avenue. Upon arrival Squad 1 set up as the RIC group with units from Montgomery. The squad cleared at 2100 hours.

On Saturday the runs kept coming as just before 0400 hours, Truck 1 was alerted to the Apartment Fire at 5463 16th Avenue in Co.44's first due. Truck 1 arrived on scene with a small fire on the balcony and established the command. The interior crew forced entry and extinguished the fire on the balcony with the water can before it extended in the apartment. The Truck cleared at 0441 hours when investigators arrived.

A few hours later, the bells went off again for the house on fire at 5400 Riverdale Road. Truck 1 responded with the ambulance and a total of 5 personnel and operated as the first due truck. The house turned out to be a vacant we'd run a few months prior. Truck 1 threw ladders, and went to work removing plywood from windows and doors to support Engines from 7 and 9 in locating and extinguishing the small fire in the basement. The Truck cleared at 1059 hours.
