Sunday afternoon at 1259 hours, Truck 1 and Engine 11 were dispatched to a reported building fire at 2065 University Blvd in 34’s area. Engine 341 arrived with smoking showing from the roof while units from 1 arrived right behind E341. The Truck crew searched and opened up the fire area while the driver and tiller man went to the roof to open up. The fire was contained to the kitchen area with minor extension to the void space above the kitchen. Engine 11 had the backup line and mopped up some hot spots. Crews cleared at 1544 hours.

First thing Monday morning, at 0052 hours Engine 11 and Squad 1 were dispatched to 5329 Chesapeake Rd in 9’s first due for the house fire. Engine 92 arrived with heavy fire showing and people trapped. The Engine crew arrived and then stretched the 400’ 1 ¾ line and added the high-rise pack to make the fire building. The Engine crew opened up and hit hot spots while the Squad crew searched and opened up division 2. The fire did extend to the second floor but was quickly knocked. Searches were negative and the homeowner was transported for burns. Units from 1 cleared at 0227 hours.
