Today the members of the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department were notified that we'd be the recipients of an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG). This grant will enable Hyattsville to purchase and outfit a new Rescue Squad to continue serving the citizens of Hyattsville City and Prince George's County for years to come.

Furthermore, this grant allows us to focus on other capital expenditures that will provide immediate benefit to the department. Special thanks to all of who made this possible, to name a few; the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), MD-Senator Barbara Mikulski and especially the members who participated in the grant creation process.
